Day #1 Cycle 2 of MPT Treatment

Steve just started the second cycle of MPT. He should have started last Friday, but because the doctor's office didn't specify we were to call one week before he ended the first cycle we assumed he would have a break between cycles. This is a great reminder that we need to be on top of everything and not leave it up to others. Please pray that the lapse in time will have no negative effects.

This blog is for our family and friends to stay updated on my husband's condition. Steve was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma on July 9th, 2009.

Steve and I had just returned from South Lake Tahoe after celebrating our third anniversary. During our stay Steve decided to "test" his strength and worked out in the hotel's weight room. The next day he began experiencing rib and back pain that continued for over 3 weeks. We decided to make a doctors's appointment thinking he might have strained some muscles.

Our primary doctor was on vactation and so we saw a new doctor. While describing Steve's symptoms the doctor was looking at old blood tests and became concerned. He recommended an x-ray of his spine and a special blood test. Three days later we began our journey.
